Allergen Awareness. Sulphur Dioxide.
This week is the last ingredient in our series that Food Handlers need to be aware, we’re looking at Sulphur Dioxide.
Some asthma sufferers react to sulphur dioxide. It is used as a preservative in a lot of foods, particularly meat products like sausages, soft drinks, dried fruit like apricots and vegetables. Sulphur dioxide is also found in beers and wine.
Common foods that contain Sulphur Dioxide.
Sulphur Dioxide is often found in a wide variety of different foods including:
